FESTAMBIENTE MONTE BARRO – THE FESTIVAL OF LECCO’S SUSTAINABILITY
Being an association also means having fun and entertain others, while telling about the real possibility of a different world. This is why Festambiente was born. The first national low impact festival of Legambiente was held in Grosseto in 1989, and after that many others have been organized in several parts of Italy.
As Legambiente Lecco we organize our own FestAmbiente thanks to the essential work of dozens of volunteers: for many years Legambiente Lecco was the creator of festAmbiente Alpi, a successful environmentalist festival which was held in Val Masino (SO). From 2014, however, the festival is located in areas inside and outside the hermitage of Monte Barro (Galbiate - LC) with four days of debates, shows, music and nature which offer everyone many opportunities to enjoy the beauty of being together in a unique environment. It is also a chance to discover the projects, activities, and values that Legambiente Lecco represents, which go in the direction of improving eco-friendly lifestyles.
From theater to folk dances, from recycling workshops to trekking on the mountain at the discovery of local food and beautiful architecture, all this and much more has been and will be Festambiente Monte Barro, a festival dedicated to sustainability, also supporting the campaign Azzero Co2 resetting any emission.
FestAmbiente Monte Barro is held at the Parco Monte Barro Hostel, which has been recognized as a tourist facility of sustainability from the Italian network TurismoBellezzaNatura, thanks to the many sustainable and environmentally friendly practices which are used to offer its services.
